Since winning the Independent’s Column-writing competition in 1997, I’ve written articles for the Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph, Independent, Guardian Unlimited, Evening Standard, and dozens of magazines and online publications.
I’ve written on travel, motoring, motorcycles, science, theatre and comedy, angels and books. For BBC Radio 4, I’ve recorded features from a microlight crossing the channel, a sandyacht hurtling across a beach, and on the back of a mechanical bull at Houston Rodeo.

Other media appearances include, improbably, a BBC TV Open University programme on particle physics.
